We are Andrea & Christian and Anja & Jörg
We’ve been knowing each other for 12 years now when Anja started to work for Andrea’s travel and incentive agency „footprints events“ in 2010. During a great and funny trip to watch the European Football Cup in Poland 2012 we became friends.
The idea to jointly buy a holiday home for larger groups was born in the Corona period. All of a sudden, travelling outside Germany was „taboo“. It was no longer possible to offer the footprints interval fasting tours in Mallorca and Belgium. We noticed how difficult it was to rent such a house in Germany – unless you buy one yourself. It was a coincidence that we found the Glaadter Hütte so quickly and perfectly fitting our needs.It took until March 2021 to finally sign the contract. After a few months of busy remodeling, our first group arrived on July 9.
We were very excited, but - to be honest - we didn't want to let the cottage at first, that's how much we had taken it to our hearts!
Unfortunately, the huge flooding came in July 2021 and literally turned everything upside down. The cottage was up to 60 centimetres under water on the ground floor, cellar completely flooded. So most of the work we had invested was literally swept away. We were shocked by the sight and the financial risk, too. But there was a wave of willingness to help! After only 3 weeks of intensive work the cottage was up and running again. Since then a lot of very nice guests (all of our guests are really very nice indeed!) had a lot of fun in the Glaadter Hütte.
When we have the chance to stay there ourselves we feel very thankful for all the experiences, the great people that we got to know (guests as well as neighbours) and for the adventure „Glaadter Hütte“!
