About the Hütte
The building dates back to 1904. It was completely renovated for 3 years until 2015 and turned into a restaurant and small hotel then – with lots of attention to every detail. We took over in spring 2021 and remodeled it into a holiday home for groups.
The cottage is set on 8.000 square metres private grounds with the small river Kyll as Southern boundary. The cottage combines historic Eifel farm charm with Alpine style hospitality. There is a huge fenced garden with hot tub, small children’s playground and fire place, as well as a comfy lounge area inside with a large screen TV, darts, table top football and lots more.
The cottage is at your sole disposal – with 9 bedrooms (the house sleeps up to 26 guests, but smaller groups will feel comfortable, too), 7 bathrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, a bar counter to draft beer, a cosy living and dining room, bicycles, various games and of course the nice outdoor area.
It is the ideal spot for families and friends who wish to spend time together. You can rent it for a weekend or the whole week. Be sportive by hiking or bicycle riding or simply take time out and relax – suit yourself . We’d be happy to welcome you!
The cottage is a self-catering vacation home. In the large kitchen you can give free rein to your creativity! Equipped with three refrigerators, a freezer, an extra-wide gas oven, an additional oven and two dishwashers, the hobby cooks among you should want for nothing.
The village of Jünkerath is located in Volcanic Eifel or Vulkan Eifel a region in the Eifel Mountains, just 22 kilometres from highway A1 (exit Blankenheim). There is a train connection from Cologne (1.5hrs train ride). When arriving by train we can shuttle your luggage to the cottage (approx. 2 kilometres). Unfortunately, the train tracks are still not in use, being damaged by the flooding in July 2021.
A small bank is separating the cottage grounds from a residential area on the one side. On the other side it’s the small river Kyll. The well-known 130 kms bike trail „Kyllradweg“ is right in front of our door. A bakery, 3 supermarkets and a drug store are just 200 metres away. So there won’t be any shortage of food and drinks!
Even if the cottage is detached and in the countryside, we have to point out that it is really important (for us and our neighbours) to keep outside nighttime silence after 10p.m.
We also ask that you do not set up any speakers in the outdoor area during the day and turn up any loud music there. No one has anything against a normal volume, but please avoid fat party sound!
